I’m a mom of two girls and an Early Child Educator Teacher with over 15 years of experience with different age’s group in various Daycare centres. I will provide a clean, organize, pet free, none smoking and safe and nurturing environment where children will be stimulated to develop social, physical, emotional and intellectual skills on a daily basis. I plan my activities in a “theme basis program” where every week we will talk, discuss, explore and experiment with different age-appropriate activities and materials. I also pay attention to children’s interest to develop activities. We have fun learning songs, poems and finger play at circle time and exploring and getting messy at creativity time. I teach them many new concepts including colours, shapes, numbers, size, patterning and listening skills. During outdoor time, I provide age appropriate equipment and games so they can develop Gross motor skills. We dance and move different parts of our body during music time. A nap or rest period will be providing for approximately two hours every day from 12:30 to 2:30. Kids have the opportunity to start learning simple words, phrases and songs of my Spanish language. I provide 2 healthy snacks and 1 hot homemade meal. Menu is well balanced and base on Canada food guide. Every year I renew my C.P.R and first aid. My name is Sheila Platt and I run a home daycare called “Sheila’s Little Explorer's Homecare".I have been teaching kids since I was 12 years of age. I used to be a professional ballerina in my teen years and spend alot of my time helping develop the younger children. I worked for CIBC for 10 years in Management with a role of developing and improving people. I am always improving my skills through children courses and research. I have my CPR which I renew on a regular basis. I have never had anyone through my house that has not been impressed with me or my services. I have turned my basement into a daycare centre where 1200 sq are divided into centers. I also have a large backyard with a 20ft play centre and almost everything you can imagine for toys. The kids call my basement a “Kids Dreamland”. I offer weekly themes for all age groups. I LOVE my daycare and have been doing this out of my home for 4 years. I take pride in not only offering a family environment but an environment where kids are learning and growing.
